Anatomy of a Revolution

So you want to overthrow the government, huh? Well, needless to say, it’s not that simple. This short article will give you useful information as to what it takes to have a successful revolution. Here we go:

1. Do NOT initiate violence. Look at the wars the United States has started. When we attack first, we do not have the support of our people, and generally, we are not successful. To maintain support, you must wait for your ENEMY to initiate the conflict. In our own American Revolution, we only caused violence AFTER the British government had done many outrageous things.
2. Gain support, which means gain money. DO NOT gain this money by any unethical means, for you will lose whatever credibility and support you may have had. To ultimately destroy capitalism, you have to participate in the system first. Capitalism shapes society so that the ONLY way to ultimately gain support is to gain money. Look at our presidents: it takes about $60,000,000 to win an election; any less and you will lose, since you will put out fewer advertisements and hold fewer rallies. YOU MUST GAIN MONEY, BUT YOU MUST ALSO BE NON-PROFIT. Put all money back into your organization. Make sure you are autonomous and not controlled by one leader. REMEMBER, POWER CORRUPTS.
3. With the money you raise, hold rallies, and EDUCATE the people. Make them aware of what the government is doing wrong, and assure them that you can fix it. The more you spread your message, the more credible you will be. Dick Cheney does it all the time. He kept saying, “There are WMD in Iraq,” and even though his own administration said there weren’t, he drilled the idea into the public’s heads and we bought it. Now, in his case, he was using scare tactics, but the same technique can be used to spread GOOD messages: the messages of your cause. The more you say it, the more people will believe you. Again, make sure what you say is controlled by the whole; not one person.
4. THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS! Do NOT proceed until you have the support of the majority! You WILL BE CRUSHED if you do not have adequate support. Sure, the national Army would crush you either way, but if you have great support, their morale will be low, and the President might think twice before using them on his own citizens. In a word, if you have great support, your odds increase exponentially.
5. TRY YOUR BEST TO BE PEACEFUL, BUT EMBRACE VIOLENCE IF NEED BE. If capitalists put up resistance, than you MUST embrace some sort of violence. Evict rich capitalists of their property, remove people from city hall, but minimalize on the casualties. In fact, don’t kill anyone unless your own lives are seriously threatened. And remember: don’t just take over the system, REMOVE IT COMPLETELY.
6. Keep autonomy alive. Do not seize power for yourself. Your goal is to make everyone equal and happy right? Then don’t become a dictator. This isn’t easy, but it is made easier by REMOVING the system altogether, and keeping your society autonomous. Remove the President or such from office, and replace Congress, or city hall, or state legislature, with delegates. That is, delegates MUST do what the people tell them to. In a word, it’s direct democracy. Elections could be held the same way, just with delegates and not representatives. If you follow these rules, and with the right leaders, you should be successful.

Some Helpful Hints

Earlier I said DO NOT INITIATE VIOLENCE. You may be wondering, “what if the government ignores us and doesn’t initiate the revolution?” Well, what you can do is force them to initiate. You can hold large and peaceful protests. In a way, you should annoy the government to the point where they do something outrageous: something to infuriate the public. If you want a good resource as to how this is accomplished, watch “V for Vendetta” a few times.

If you want more information on what to do AFTER your revolution is successful, read up on the Zapatista movement. They are a completely successful Anarchist/Communist movement, and you can learn from them.

A couple of things how do I avoid getting infiltrated the most stubbornest of world leaders have become corrupted by money and thoughts of power by the opposing side, what if it is just a succession and you want to just have your government but not totally annihilate the other government but the citizens who cant conform to said government they have a safe haven but the followers stay with your side eventually the aggression between both sides will stop I'm open to peaceful relations after said revolution this by the way is just to know basis. Love the ideas in your essay.
